INDO-CHINA JOINT TRAINING EXERCISE 2013 CULMINATES



Indo-China joint training exercise Hand in Hand-2013, conducted at Miaoergang comprehensive training area, situated 130 kms South of Chengdu, China successfully concluded today. The joint training exercise on counter terrorism was carried out in the right earnest and consistent with the aim of enhancing mutual trust, understanding and cooperation.

The joint training exercise culminated with joint operations on Cordon and Search in international scenario. Presence of 100 trained and battle tested terrorist group on the international border of India and China waiting for an opportunity to carry out terror attacks was simulated. The terrorist camp was simulated in three well fortified buildings with underground hideouts, tunnels and bunkers.

In this culminating phase, two mixed companies of the participating contingents operated under an integrated joint command. Rifles, mortar, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, anti tank rockets, and UAV of the two countries were extensively used in the successfully conducted joint exercise.

Lieutenant General Zhou Xiaozhou, Chief of Staff of Chengdu Military Region and Lieutenant General Anil Kumar Ahuja led the Observation groups of the two countries.

Addressing the joint training contingents Lieutenant General Zhou Xiaozhou said that the two armies are highly professional and good military experts. Inspite of the language barrier the two contingents achieved good cooperation. He also said that during the exercise, participating troops from China and India have shared dining tables and dorms, exchanged experiences and learned from each other. In doing so they improved their tactics and technique, promoted mutual understanding and developed a strong relationship.
