The new 75,000-sqm domestic terminal building at Chennai airport is set for a grand opening soon
The steel and glass structure has two floors — ground floor for arrivals and first floor for departure Departing passengers can drive up a flyover to the entrance while arriving passengers can walk out
Facilities like baggage scanning and aerobridges will be added later
A new international terminal is also getting ready. Together, the new terminals will help the airport handle 23 million passengers per year from 13 million passengers a year now
