'Hoysaleswara Temple' in Halebidu, Karnataka, India.

Hindu God 'Vishnu' as 'Narasimha' or Man-Lion, kills Hiranyakashipu, a demon who had been granted a special boon of near-immortality by the God of Creation, Brahma. Narasimha manages to circumvent all the conditions that Brahma had stipulated would not cause his death, like not being killed by either man or animal or not being killed within or outside his residence (he is killed at the threshold). Stone sculpture from the 'Hoysaleswara Temple' in Halebidu, Karnataka, India.
