Vedic Influence in Borneo

• If the dense forests of nearby Borneo are thoroughly explored they will reveal many historic relics of the sway that the ancient Hindus held there.

• The sultan of Brunei (in Borneo) bore the title of Seri Begavan, meaning Shri Bhagavan(Lord Vishnu). Recently because of the sultanate's long alienation from the Sanskrit, that term is being wrongly interpreted as 'the royal advisor.'

• The ancient Indian name by which Indonesians call Borneo is Kalimantan. Kali is the popular Indian goddess who is devoutly worshiped by the general masses of Vedic followers and rulers alike.

• Furthermore, part of Borneo is Sarawak. The last ruler before Malaysian government take over Sarawak region was ruled by an Englishman. However, he also bore the title of raja, which shows that Borneo was a part of the Indian empire in East Asia.

• Name of Brunei itself came from the name of Hindu God Varuna. In some part of world V pronounced as B. Varuna became Baruna, later they named the country as Brunei. Today the sultan who is an Islam follower demolished all the Hindu evidence in the country.

• In the Eastern Borneo a Hindu deity Ganesh from the year 800 A.D was found.
