Many technologies have evolved since last few centuries and today Civil Engineering may be at its best but it is impossible to create another "KONARK" with equal majestic conception and engineering brilliance.
The first ray of the morning falls on the diamond surmounted on the crown of the floating idol.
This majestic conception makes KONARK the epitome of ancient engineering and technologies. It is an UNESCO world heritage site and one of seven wonders of India.
This talk will discuss about the Unique Ancient Construction techniques and engineering principles used in this temple.
About the Speaker :
Abinash Acharya, currently pursuing Masters of Technology in Environmental
Engineering & Management Programme, is an active member of Ancient Science & Technology Group. He has worked on the restoration of sun temple "Konark" and Sri Jagannath temple, Puri from 2010 to 2012 during his undergraduate in Civil Engineering.
Interests : Ancient scientific traditions; Ancient monument architecture, structural Analysis and restoration techniques.
